EPSON Micro PowerDrive

EPSON PowerDrive Servo System ensures Maximum Robot Performance

As the industry leader in true PC based Robot Controls EPSON's RC520 and RC420 controllers are powerful, flexible and easy to use. However, after reviewing with our customers what they would like next they replied that they would like less. Epson controllers are great for high performance and high end applications but what about simple pick and place type applications where a simple controller at a reduced price would be a much better fit. As a result of those discussions, the Micro PowerDrive Controller was created. The primary design goals were to keep as much performance as possible while at the same time significantly reducing the cost. We took our PowerDrive servo Technology which provides industry leading motion performance and combined it with our proven EPSON RC+ Development Software to create a low cost, high performance controller. It is the smallest 6 axis controller on the market. But don't let it's ultra compact size fool you as it still packs quite a performance punch that allows it to be used for applications ranging from simple pick and place to more complex or motion performance intensive applications as found in the electronics and medical industries.

EPSON Micro PowerDrive High Points

  • Low Cost yet High Performance
  • Ultra Compact Size (smallest 6-axis controller in the industry)
  • Fast Robot Cycle and Program Execution Times
  • Industry Leading Ease of Use with EPSON RC+ Development Software
  • Use as Stand Alone, PLC Slave, or with PC
  • EPSON PowerDrive Servo System ensures Maximum Robot Performance
  • Fully integrated options including: Microsoft .NET support, DeviceNet, Profibus, Additional I/O and more

The EPSON Micro PowerDrive controller is a low cost, high performance robot controller that provides the ultimate experience in ease of use, compact size, and reliability at an incredible low cost. With core performance features superior to many other robot vendors high end controllers, the EPSON Micro PowerDrive creates a whole new class of robot controllers for customers seeking the best mix of low cost and high performance.

At the heart of the Micro PowerDrive is the new EPSON PowerDrive servo technology that provides superior path control, incredibly fast accel/decel times, and tremendous overall motion capabilities in an ultra compact form factor. As the industry's smallest 6-axis robot controller, the Micro PowerDrive can be mounted inside a standard cabinet panel next to a PLC saving valuable factory floor space. But don't let the small size fool you. The Micro PowerDrive combines tremendous Power and flexibility that allows it to be used for stand alone, PLC slave, and PC driven applications.

The MIcro PowerDrive is available with all EPSON E2 Scara and Pro Six 6-axis Robots and includes an enhanced version of the popular and industry leading EPSON RC+ development environment. With powerful features such as 16 task multi-tasking, the full feature SPEL+ Programming language, project management, sourece level debugging with EPSON SmartSense technology and more, the Micro PowerDrive with EPSON RC+ reduces development time allowing developers to build Automation systems faster and easier.
