How To Customize Your Automation Controller


For Industrial applications requiring defined cooling, high-powered modules, integrated backplane synchronization, Industrial PC based platform offers a good platform to deploy a wide range of analog, digital, motion, vision, and reconfigurable I/O (RIO) applications. Industrial PCs are available from a wide range of vendors and offer PC-based Technology in a more rugged form factor than desktop PCs.

How to Customize?
To customize your industrial PC system, follow these steps

  • Choose your LabVIEW controller
  • Choose your I/O modules
  • Add vision, motion, and Communications to complete your system

System Requirement and Installation

  • IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4-based PC
  • Supported Ethernet options
    1. NI-PCI-8232 GPIB/Gigabit Ethernet
    2. Integrated IntelŪ Network adapter, using an IntelŪ 82540, 82559, 82558, or 82550 chipset.
    3. PCI Network adapter, using an IntelŪ 82540, 82559, 82558, or 82550 chipset.
      *An example of a commercially available board that carries the 82550 chipset is the Intel Pro/100 S.
  • Parallel ATA (IDE) Hard-drive (See Hard Drive section below.)
  • FAT32 File system on the primary hard drive of the desktop PC (or the equivalently designated boot drive)
  • 3.5 inch floppy drive (1.44 MB)
  • PS2 Keyboard - (Required when using a LabVIEW Real-Time Format Disk)
